Northern Ireland Open Team

Sam Woodrow

I’m Sam Woodrow and I’m 20 years old and live in Ballymoney County Antrim. I have competed for Northern Ireland in the European Team Championships in the under 14s in 2013, where the team came 3rd! The Under 14 world Pairs 2013 where we came 10th, the under 17 European Team Championships in 2015 and competed as an individual at the World and European Individuals in 2017. I am Riding Molly who I was Celtic Pairs Champion on in 2017 and who I rode representing Northern Ireland at The Home Internationals in 2018. I am also on the team for the European team championships this year on my other pony Bobby! This will be my first world team competition as I was selected for the under 17 world team in 2016 but had to pull out due to injuring myself so I am excited to be back representing Northern Ireland at the World Teams!

Nick Tougher

I’m Nick Tougher and I’m 20 years old. I’ve competed for Northern Ireland at European and World Team Championships multiple times in u12, u17, and Opens. This year I’ll be riding Sonja, it’s my third year riding her and my first World Teams competing with her. I’m excited to get in the ring and compete for Northern Ireland once again.

Brian Kennedy,
I’m Brian Kennedy, 2019 marks 20 years since my first time representing Northern Ireland at an Open World Team Championships, which is coincidentally around the time some of my teammates were born. I will be riding Holly, she is a 5-year-old Quarter Horse Mare. I am very excited to be representing Northern Ireland once again and looking forward to competing in Wales this summer.
