Australia Open Team

Alister Ling I live in Melbourne, Australia and this will be my third WTC representing Australia. I currently have three horses of my own. Outside of Mounted Games I enjoy training young horses for a range of different disciplines. Being able to learn different skills from riders all over the world is one of my favourite things about Mounted Games. I am looking forward to a fantastic competition in Wales this year and can’t wait for a game of Perudo!
Lauren Slater Hey! I come from a country area in NSW right next to the National Capital. I’ve been riding for about 17 years, the last 11 of those in partnership with my best mate and mount – Jed. I also enjoy eventing and showjumping which helps keep my games ponies interested and well-rounded in their education. I am a high school teacher in my second year, specialising in Science and Physical Education. My result highlights include Australian opens pairs champion 2016/17 and teams champion 2017. 2018 included open reserve champion for pairs and teams and top 3 in individuals. This is not my first international comp but it is my first WTC so I’m super excited to be a part of this competition!

Simon Rodgers,
I’m 19 years old and from Melbourne, Victoria. This is my first Open WTC however I have been to two U17 WTC’s previously. I’ve been doing games from the day I started riding at age 11 and have loved it ever since. Last year I lived in England with the Clark family and competed in the UK season and I plan on doing the same this year. I’d like to send a massive shoutout to this great family, especially to Ella, for all that they have done for me. I’d also like to thank my parents for all the support they have given me throughout the years, like most people in this sport there is no way that I would be where I am now if it wasn’t for them. I look forward to what I know will surely be a well run week by Wales and can’t wait to ride with and against some great mates. I know that i’ll enjoy every minute of it.

Katie Slater

I come from a country area in NSW right next to the Nations Capital, Canberra. I’ve been riding for about 19 years, the last 14 of those with my beautiful 23 year old (now retired) mare Tia. My favourite memory from MGA is the Easter long weekend we spend at nationals every year in a rural town near the South Australian border. It’s the only nationals where most people stay 3 nights or more, meaning plenty of time to catch up with interstate mates. I also play Oztag and League tag and run regularly for fitness and enjoyment. I am a primary school teacher in my fourth year, teaching grade 5/6 this year. This is my second WTC, having competed at Ireland, but I am especially excited to be a part of this competition as I’m riding with my sister for the first time in a WTC.

Ryan Seini I’m 20 years old and have been riding mounted games since I was 13. I was a member of the 2015 and 2016 Australian U17 team. I look forward to stepping up into the Australian Open Team.

Georgia Bissicks

I live in Victoria, Australia. I’ve been riding Mounted Games for around 9 years now and absolutely love the sport. I first started mounted games as a way of developing my riding and making friendships. Since then mounted games has become my main discipline and focus and has provided me with many opportunities. Some of my greatest achievements are becoming U15 Australian Pairs Champion in 2017 and placing second at U18 Australian Individuals in 2018. I am very excited to now have the opportunity to represent my country again at World Teams Championships in Wales 2019.

Em Conn

I am 16 and I have been riding Mounted Games since I was 8. With my awesome pony Ace I have been lucky enough to win numerous State and National titles including winning AMGA National individuals in the U15’s twice and also recently in the U18’s. This is my second Australian Team selection. I can’t wait to fly the Aussie Flag in Wales, catch up with some old friends and meet plenty of new ones.
