Phil Weldon

Hi I’m Philip, from Riverstown in Meath, and this will be my 1st world team championship! I’m 21 years old and have been riding for the last 7 years in MGA. I’m looking forward to a busy summer riding at both European individuals and world teams. I will be riding my Dutch pony, Blix. This will be his 5th season doing games, and his third time representing Ireland. Good luck to everyone!

Ian Hyland

Hi I’m Ian Hyland from Monasterevin Co. Kildare. I am 19 years old and this is my second world team championship. I am also representing my country on the European team. I have been doing MGA for the last 7 years. I will be on my mare holly. She is a bay mare and I this will be her 4th year doing games. I am looking forward to the week and good competition.

Craig O’Connor

Hi, I’m Craig, I’m old. I will be riding my pony Spot. This is her 2nd season competing. I am also representing my country on the Irish European team this year in Ireland. I am really looking forward to a fun competitive week. Best of luck to all teams!

Hi I’m Leo, from Dunleer co. Louth and this will be my 4th world team championships! I’m 18 years old and have been riding for the last 7 years in MGA. I’ll also be representing my country at Europeans in Ireland. I will be riding sparky, she’s 6 years old and this will be her third season doing games. Good luck to everyone!

Jake O’Connor

Hi, I’m, from Naas in Co Kildare and this will be my 9th time representing Ireland in the world team championships. I’m 27 years old and have been riding my pony Izzy for 4 years now. Izzy is an 8yr old Connemara x Arab mare and this will be her 3rd world teams. I’d like to wish all the teams the best of luck but hopefully, we can go on and do 3 in a row!!

Hi I’m Mark Devitt I’m 36 years old I’m the reserve this year I’ve been to 10 world team champs My pony is saphira It’s her 4th year doing games I’m looking forward to the week to see old friends and see the team do well.

Grace Queally

My name is Grace Queally, I am 17 years old and I’ve been playing games since I was 8. I started with the pony club and got to compete at Windsor in 2016 and 2017. In MGA I have have competed for South Africa in Australia in the south nations cup. I competed in Belgium for the Irish u12s. My ponies name is sprite and we have been a team since 2015. I can’t wait for this years world team championships and feel we are a team with great potential

Matt Sinnot

Hi I’m Matt Sinnott form Gorey fo Wexford. I’m 16 years old. I attend school in FCJ uncloudy. This is the first time I have been picked for the world team. I have been a member of MGA Ireland for the last number of years, with my first competition being U12s in Belgium 2014. My pony Rocky is a 14h bay gelding owned by Annette and Sinade Walsh. I’ve been riding rocky since February 2019. I’m looking forward to World team championships with great team mates.

John Nolan My name is John Nolan and I am 15 years old and I come from a small village Camross in County Laois. I have been playing games for 4 years and have represented Ireland at U12 and U14 at Home Internationals. Last year I won the U14 Irish Individuals and made the finals of the U14 World Individuals. I am looking forward to playing in the U17 Team Competition. This year I am very fortunate to be riding Chummie
Sadie Hyland

Hi I’m Sadie Hyland from Monasterevin Co. Kildare. I am 17 years old I have been doing MGA for the last 7 years. This year I will be on my pony Herbie on the World and European Team. He is 14 hh and it is my second year on him. I am really looking forward to great competition this year with my team. and this is my second world team championship. I am also representing my country on the European team.

Curragh Monaghan My name is Curragh Monaghan and I am 17 years old and going into 6th year in school. I am from Somerville, Kentstown, Co Meath. I have been playing games since I was 9 years old. I will be riding my new pony Storm, he is a 13.2 grey. Other than riding horses I love playing Gaelic football. I play for my local club Seneschalstown and for my county for which I recently won a Leinster medal. I also enjoy skiing and hanging out with friends. I am really looking forward to riding at the world championships.

My name is Ewan Phillips and I’m 16 years old. I compete regularly in MGA all around Ireland.This is my first time representing ireland in such a huge competition and really look forward to it. My pony’s name is Tine and she is a 13.1hh grey mare.
